Green Sneakers
Composed and Written by Ricky Ian Gordon

” . . . baritone Ian Greenlaw ably brings the spirit of the missing partner into the room. His voice is rich with emotion, but his acting is what certainly convinced [the audience] of his prowess.”

ABOUT GREEN SNEAKERS

Green Sneakers is the deeply moving, and at times very funny, story of the last few months of Jeffrey Grossi’s (Ricky Ian Gordon’s first partner’s) life.
“Would you consider learning Buddhism?” he asked Ricky.  “I think I want to die as a Buddhist.”

Ricky did consider it, and in fact wrote him an opera:  The Tibetan Book of the Dead, which premiered at the Houston Grand Opera in 1996.
