Position: Executive Director
City: Washington, DC/Arlington, VA
Type: Full-Time

UrbanArias seeks a dynamic, collaborative Executive Director to provide strategic and operational leadership at a critical moment in our company’s history.

UrbanArias is entering its 11th season, and is the Washington, DC area’s contemporary opera company. Our focus is short, contemporary operas in English. Over our ten-year lifespan, we have produced over 25 operas, 10 of which were world premieres and 6 of which were UrbanArias commissions. Additionally, we produced and released a professional recording in 2019, which was cited by Opera News as one of their top 5 new works albums. Our annual operating budget is currently $300,000, and we are poised for growth.

The Executive Director will help facilitate that growth by taking the lead in fundraising, development, and operations, and will work collaboratively with the General and Artistic Director on strategic planning and implementation.
